There are two types of finishes used on Troutman
furniture, finishes for use INDOORS ONLY and finishes that can be used
indoors or on a COVERED porch. The outdoor finish is an acrylic and is
designed for use on a covered porch away from nature's elements. Because
your furniture is made with solid hardwoods, if used outdoors it will age
similar to the wood on your home. Maintenance of your furniture will help
keep its finish looking new. Whether covered porch or indoors, keep your
furniture cleaned and polished with a high quality furniture polish to
extend the life of the finish. Should your furniture get wet, please be
sure to dry it as soon as possible. The finish on any wood product will
eventually begin to deteriorate. To restore its beauty, we recommend a
light hand sanding and cleaning followed by application of a quality
finish material as directed by your local store. Periodic touch up of
scratches and nicks will protect the wood and keep moisture and mildew
from building up.
