** A NOTE ABOUT THE TROUTMAN CHARLESTON GREEN FINISH**
Legend says that Charleston Green, a green so deep it looks black, came about after the Civil War when Union troops sent buckets of black paint to help rebuild the decimated town. Colorful Charleston residents couldn't bear the thought of their Holy City being painted government-issued black, so they tinted the paint with yellow and green, creating Charleston's signature greenish-black accent color. However it came about the color can best be described as bluish-blackish-green. Some paint recipes have the mixture as 70% black, 27% green, and 3% yellow. It has been said that only a trained eye with bright light can distinguish the difference between the color black and the color of Charleston Green and this can also be said about the Troutman Charleston Green finish. If you are looking for a color that is overtly green you may like Hunter Green better but if you are looking for the historic color of Charleston Green you'll be very happy with this finish.
